Cars occupying bike lanes have proven deadly. Despite the passage of a new bill enforcing stricter fines for cars parked in bike lanes, the issue remains widespread in NYC. Drivers either ignore the rules or don’t fully grasp the impact of blocking bike lanes.
Idea
My goal for this project was to simply remind the drivers to not park on the bike lane without offending them. That was when the humor stepped in. The texts might seem random to what it wants to say, for instance, “park here to fund NYC DOT $175” or “If you can read this you are too close” but it was actually using metaphors as much as it can to naturally lead driver’s to avoid crossing or parking on the bike lane.
